NATIONAL ROLE MODELS CONFERENCE

SEPTEMBER 11th - 14th 2005

MANDALAY BAY RESORT & CONVENTION CENTER

LAS VEGAS, NV

NEW SCHEDULE, NEW FORMAT

Created out of a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ National Institutes of Health and Minority Access, Inc., the annual Role Models Conference is an opportunity to focus the national spotlight on institutions and individuals who have excelled in producing and supporting minority researchers, particularly in the biomedical sciences and health related fields, and their research efforts. Unique in its kind, the National Role Models Conference unites representatives from major research universities, community colleges, Hispanic serving institutions, historically black colleges and universities, Tribal colleges and high schools from across the nation to address the issue of health disparities – illnesses and health risks that disproportionately afflict minorities. Minority Access finds it critical to increase the number of minority researchers in the biomedical and health related fields since they are more likely to conduct research on health disparities and close the disparity gap, which currently is wide.

Plan to join us for the 2005 National Role Models Conference at the spectacular Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.  The dates are September 11th through the 14th.

Nominations are currently being accepted for 2005 awardees in the following categories:
