"DEVELOPING TOMORROW'S WORKFORCE"

Role of Minority Access

Services provided by Minority Access normally shall include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Recruitment of academically talented students from minority and majority institutions of higher education;

  • Screen, rate and rank student applications;

  • Refer applicants to agency for selection of interns;

  • Identify available housing and assist the interns in securing housing;

  • Pay round-trip travel expenses for the interns;

  • Conduct an orientation prior to program initiation;

  • Make bi-weekly payments of stipends based on academic classification;

  • Provide training activities designed to enhance the intern’s professional and personal development, including enhancing their interests in career opportunities related to the agency’s mission.

  • Monitor work performance of interns throughout their internship;

  • Develop evaluation tools designed to assess the intern’s performance and the internship program;

  • Provide recognition to interns who complete the program;

  • Submit a final report to the sponsoring agency.
