Minority Access ETS
The Minority Access Educational Talent Search (ETS) Program is administered by Minority Access and funded by the US Department of Education. ETS serves students - grades 6TH thru 12TH - at targeted schools in Prince George’s County, Maryland - who have the desire and potential for success in post-secondary education. ETS compliments the services of our school partners and their guidance departments in college preparatory education for promising students.
The mission of ETS at Minority Access, Inc. is to increase the likelihood that participants (1) become highly competitive high school graduates and (2) enroll and graduate from an institution of higher education: college, university or trade school. As a result of program services, students will be prepared to take charge of their academic achievement, giving them an increased chance for an enjoyable life-long career and a more satisfying quality of life. Our approach is to engage students in professional, relevant, and consistent academic coaching activities, financial aid and pre-college workshops, field trips, bi-monthly school visits, scheduled seminar activities and also to conduct parent workshops.
Participants who join ETS are expected to enroll in a rigorous academic program at their respective schools and complete a pre-college curriculum course of study in high school. Following high school graduation, students are expected to enroll in a post-secondary institution.
